I have been involved with the horse industry for 19 years and took an interest in
barrel racing when I was around 12 years old. I spent most of my youth attending
horse camps, clinics, reading about horses, and of course riding and competing. I
received my Associates Degree in Equestrian Sciences from Black Hawk College in 2004.
I was blessed to have worked under a Multiple World Champion Reining trainer working
reining horses and primarily starting colts.
Memberships include: AQHA, APHA, NBHA, and WCSC.
My Husband, Jared is a police officer for the City of Mt. Carmel. He is very active
in the care and management of the horses. He is also the Vice President for the
Wabash County Saddle Club and announces most of the shows. We have two beautiful
daughters who both take an interest in the horses. We hope they will be active in
the farm in the future.
Richard Gochenour: Owner/Management
My father has always taken a great interest in horses and my parents were very supportive
of my goals growing up. After several years of taking me to horse shows and watching
from the fence, my dad decided he might as well do it too. He began barrel racing
at age 50! He has a ton of fun and has won several awards including belt buckles
and even went to the NBHA World Championships in 2008.
Both of my parents are very involved in the Wabash County Saddle Club. My dad will
be found on the tractor and my mom, Jackie, helping at the announcers stand.
